Vasyl, a pensioner, former paratrooper, and liquidator of the Chornobyl accident, was in the Kharkiv region with his wife when the war started.

While the russian army was advancing on the city, Vasyl and his best friend Malva, a dog, had to go on a reconnaissance for food. After all, the family could simply die of hunger. So, under fire and near the columns of the russian army, Vasyl embarks on a dangerous journey.
